Safety Protocol
This is the detail behind every short safety note you've seen elsewhere on this site: what we screen, what we never allow, and exactly what happens to your child's data.
Generated story text is checked automatically, and pictures flagged by a child-safety check are blocked. No check is perfect, so please read and review books before reading together.
You can read and review a book's words and pictures before reading together. Picture redraw is available for eligible books when that feature is enabled.
No check is perfect, which is exactly why we make it easy for you to look too.
There is no open chat feature anywhere in BrimStack, for a child to send, receive, or be exposed to. What gets shared is a finished book, nothing else.
In a classroom setting, teachers and adults control the prompts and student setup, a child is never left to start from a blank, unsupervised input.
Story-idea recording starts when you press the microphone button and your browser permits microphone access. Scored reading features, when available, separately require saved parent and voice consent. You can withdraw that voice consent in your account.
Raw microphone recordings are sent to our transcription provider and are not saved by BrimStack after processing. Transcripts and reading results may be saved. Our Privacy Policy explains provider processing and retention, including what is still being confirmed.
The account that owns an eligible family book can create or turn off its share link. School books use separate teacher-managed home-practice access.
In schools, teachers can review recorded practice and lesson reviews for the pupils they are authorised to support, without any of it running through an open feed.
Books and practice material can be shared home as simple, printable pages, so a family can support reading at home without creating another child account anywhere.
We collect information to make BrimStack work. The categories below explain how it is used; our Privacy Policy gives retention details and exceptions.
Even with every filter in place, we still recommend reading alongside young children.
Full details live in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and our team is always reachable through the Contact page if you want to ask us anything first.
